Event Rules
Format
- 2-man Team
- 18 holes
- The team’s best net score (of the 2 net scores) will be counted on each hole.
- Individual Skins ( GOLD / BLUE ) and ( WHITE / RED ) TEE GROUPS
Handicap Allowance
- Each player’s Event Handicap will be equal to 85% of Men’s Club Course Handicap. See Appendix I for examples
- Allowances are based on the USGA recommendation for this format.
Team Selection
Players must sign up with a partner.
Event Play
- Each player plays his own ball on every hole.
- Record each player’s gross (actual) score for each hole in the online scoring system/scorecard.
- The team’s best net score (of the 2 net scores) will be counted on each hole.
- Player’s net score for each hole will be determined by reducing his gross score by one stroke (two strokes when warranted) on any hole where a player’s Event Handicap is equal to, or higher than, the assigned course handicap for the hole.
- When a player’s Event Handicap does not dictate receiving a one-stroke reduction based on the course handicap for the hole, the player’s net score for the hole will be equal to his gross (actual) score.
- After completion of play, the Scoring Committee will use the scoring system to calculate/determine the best net score on each hole. The sum of these net scores represents the team’s score on each hole; and, ultimately, the 18-hole total team score for the event.
- Each team’s placement (order of finish) in the event will be based on the 18-hole total team score.
Payouts & Skins Game
- The number of places paid and corresponding Pro Shop credit amounts will be determined and announced in advance based on the portion of the Men’s Club budget allocated for this event.
- Each player on winning teams will receive equal shares of Pro Shop credits assigned for that place. Pro Shop credits are credited to each player’s account by The Falls staff after payouts are announced to the Club.
- $10 OPTIONAL SKINS: Individual skins game is optional for this event. There will be two skins pots, one for each tee group. Skins payout amounts will be determined by the total amount in the two skins pots divided by the number of skins outstanding.
- Each person will receive 80% of their Men’s Club handicap with ½ pops for skins only.
- Skin pops will be capped at a maximum of 18 or ½ per hole.
Weather Policy
- Pro Shop Credits and CTP: If at least 40% of players on the published tee sheet decide not to finish the round due to inclement weather, then any Pro Shop credits assigned to this event will not be awarded. Those funds will be added to the yearly prize pool to be redistributed via future events in the year.
- Players who decide to complete their round should continue to enter their score into the online scoring system as they will count towards their Men’s Club Handicap Index.
Weather / Pots + Handicap Examples
Additional Weather / Pot Rules
- Skins: If you tee off and decide not to finish due to inclement weather, your money remains in the skins pot. You will be eligible for skins on the holes you have completed. Skins will not be refunded unless the course closes due to weather.
- Birdie Board and Hole-In-One: Hole-by-hole scores will count for this event. Even if a player doesn’t finish the round, the scores per hole will count for Birdie Board and Hole-in-One.
